Why I Am Running
I’m not running because I think I have all the answers. I’m running because I care deeply about Vernon and believe I can make a meaningful contribution by listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, bringing people together, and helping turn good ideas into practical action.
As a fourth-generation Vernonite, Vernon has always been home. This community has shaped who I am through my family, career, volunteer experiences, and lifelong friendships. Serving on Council is my opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.
Our community has already invested significant time and energy in shaping a vision for Vernon’s future through the Official Community Plan. I believe Council’s role is to build on that strong foundation by making thoughtful decisions, engaging residents as we move forward, and working together to turn that vision into reality.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve led complex projects and organizational change across the public and private sectors. Those experiences, together with my volunteer leadership in our community, have taught me that the best outcomes come from listening, learning, collaborating, and following through. That’s the approach I will bring to Council as we continue building a strong future for Vernon.
